Pornhub has released the first installment of their new SFW series "Getting Closer," featuring a docu-style visit to Abigail Mac’s home, which doubles as her content production studio.

Pornhub is launching the series, according to a rep, “with an aim to make the porn industry, and its performers, more relatable to a mainstream audience.”

Shot in a style that pays homage to MTV’s classic “stars-at-home” show “Cribs,” the episode shows Mac inviting the camera into her house and workspace, with the added surprise that in each room several top-tier adult stars — including Romi Rain, Casey Calvert, Ana Foxxx and others — are seen cavorting.

Asked if this star-studded cast was part of the premise, where “Getting Closer” posits a world where porn stars just hang around a huge white house, Mac laughed and told XBIZ, “No! That’s my actual house, and that’s how we rolled before quarantine. Those are my friends and we totally hang out.”

Producer and on-camera interviewer Edith Ronne confirmed her crew "just showed up, and [Mac] was like ‘Oh, yeah, I invited some friends!' Like, I literally could have never planned that.”

Mac was thrilled to work with Ronne, who until recently had been the industry liaison at Modelhub and before that an adult industry scriptwriter.

“Edith was informed, supportive and motivated me to share a more personal touch on what it can be like to be a modern, all-around content maker in the 21st-Century adult industry,” Mac told XBIZ, adding that the covert agenda of the frothy “we’re having a porn party and it’s also MTV 'Cribs!'" vibe was to educate audiences on how “content creation is the future and it is the most ethical porn you can consume.”

Ronne told XBIZ that she finds that “a lot of stigma surrounding sex work and the porn industry comes from a place of ‘the other,’ that is to say, fear of what people don’t understand.”

“We’re hoping that by making informative lifestyle content that foregrounds performer experience available on a SFW website like YouTube, it will help alleviate some of these issues,” the producer added.

Ronne said a new Pride-themed episode is ready to be released later this month, featuring Wolf Hudson, on “the homophobia he’s experienced in the industry as a bi male performer.”

Camerawork and lighting was done by an independent team lead by Ace of LA.
